Experience Old San Juan

Today, I’m sharing part 1 of my 2-part series on Puerto Rico! I have SO many photos from our 3-week trip that I just couldn’t fit it all into one post! First up: our amazing experience in the historic capital neighborhood, Old San Juan!

Old San Juan

Our experience in Old San Juan was one of our favorites. It is absolutely magical. We quickly made friends with some other travelers and let this historic city take us on an adventure. Coming in with an open mind, a love of rum, and prepared to stay up all night is all you need — no need to plan ahead! Go with the flow and get lost in this city to truly experience Old San Juan. We walked around the colorful streets by day and let the characters of Old San Juan charm us by night!

The Mezzanine was our favorite happy hour spot! Between 4-8pm you can get $4 drinks and tapas! I ordered so many Passion Mojitos!

I highly suggest visiting San Felipe del Morro Fortress in the evening and staying until dark! You’ll see why!

Senor Paleta

Senor Paleta is my everything. I lost count how many times I came here… it was sometimes twice a day!! I will be dreaming of the day I get to come back!

“The way nature cooperates with the citizens of Old San Juan is fascinating. Certain streets still have massive trees which tower overhead and help create some shady respite from the boiling sun. These two trunks have weaved around one another as if in a decades-long dance” -Vincent

Verde Mesa is so lovely! I couldn’t put my camera down while I was here. We LOVED the food and healthy drinks so this place has gone on our list of top favorite restaurants!

I have something new to share! I made a video of our trip! This is a compilation of our Snapchat story and GoPro footage. It’s a more behind the scenes look at our trip presented in a fun and less curated way. I hope you enjoy following along on our journey of mojitos and shenanigans!
