A Roxborough Park Engagement Session

This session may have come together a bit last minute and involved cross-country travel for each of us (neither of which are unusual for me! haha!), but wow, it came together so magically! Denver surprised us with some winter weather in the middle of October and the way the snow gently gathers on the tips of all of the rocks totally had us in awe!

Since I was already on the road with no prospects of heading home anytime soon when Laura and Matt booked their Roxborough Park engagement session with me, I didn’t quite have the gear on me for the cold weather Denver was presenting us with! Laura, with her kind heart, picked me up at the airport with a full bag of warm clothes, boots, and socks so I would be able to survive this little surprise!!!! Luckily we are the same size too!

Not only did I have an amazing time at this session (yes, even despite the cold), but I just adored all the time I got to spend with these two dying laughing in the backseat of the car or at vegan dinner! I seriously had such a blast!!

Their Story

“We actually grew up across the street from one another. Matt went to a different school than I did, so we did not have a lot of interaction until we were older and briefly went to the same high school. I thought that he was very cool and confident, and appreciated his eclectic taste in music.

His brother threw a Christmas party, and even though we had not seen each other for years at that point, we were immediately drawn to each other and it was like no time had passed. It felt incredibly comfortable and secure like we had both known that this would happen.

I knew that I wanted to marry Matt when he agreed to go snowshoeing with me at 3am in the middle of a party. It was at that same Christmas party that his brother threw when we decided to start dating, even though we lived on opposite coasts and even though we had not seen each other in years. I had no idea how much I had missed his presence in my life and knew then that I could not imagine my life without him.” -Laura

“I found Laura intimidating. She always had a coy, but knowing smile. After “The Party,” I went home to Boston and told a friend about her. I told him that I loved her and that I wanted to marry her. I will always remember his incredulous laughter and look of pure disbelief. He thought I was crazy. Even so early on, I felt overwhelming certainty. I was sure that, to whatever capacity, Laura would become a permanent element of my future.” -Matt
