My Brand New Website!
Design Space Co Website
Some of you may have already noticed, but over the last few months, I’ve been working behind the scenes to slowly redo my website. In the last year, I’ve really honed my style of photography, what my strengths are, and what is important to me. I wanted a brand new design, fresh new text, and new navigation to represent these developments!
When I thought about what kinds of photos mean the most to me, I realized the emotional ones make my heart skip a beat… and then just melt into putty on the floor. There is something about capturing, in a still, what someone was feeling. When you look at that photograph, it makes you experience the emotions they were experiencing. In weddings, I feel this is so important because you want to relive your day over and over again.
When I started analyzing where my strengths lie, I knew I shined at doing just that — capturing moments fueled by emotion and pure, candid reactions. I realized I was patient enough to wait for these to happen naturally, I was observant enough to catch the moments that may otherwise go unnoticed, I was empathetic enough to realize what these photos could mean to someone with time, and I was invested enough to never stop working to get these moments captured.
I love laughter. If you’ve met me, you know I’m constantly laughing (usually loudly!) I think it is one of the most common things you do with your significant other, too! If I wanted to create images that felt genuine to me and my clients, I knew stiff poses and manipulating couples to do things they don’t naturally do together just wasn’t going to cut it. I wanted to forget what was “cool” or “trendy,” and I knew big, genuine laughs and authentic interactions were going to light my fire and fulfill those needs.
Historically, this is what I’ve been known for and it is still very much a part of me! I’ve won awards over my photos with couples in incredible landscapes and I never want to stop providing that type of photo. I feel so inspired outdoors and I think nature is a part of all of us. I enjoy documenting that connection in my art and only accept outdoor weddings and elopements because I know that is where I feel the most inspired. I, myself, dream of filling my house with canvases of photos exactly like this.
I’m wild enough to take on any adventure, and my free-spirit is excited to wander anywhere you invite me.
Now, let’s explore!
This was a massive project and I’m truthfully a little relieved it is nearly over. After all of this hard work, I’m feeling quite proud to call this little spot my home on the internet! I would LOVE for you to take a look and tell me what you think in the comments!
Huge thanks to The Design Space Co for this stunning design straight out of my dreams!
